Wyche is celebrating a century of practicing law by giving someone in the state cash to participate in one of South Carolina’s most prestigious and unique scholarship programs.
Wyche formed a partnership with the Liberty Fellowship, the cornerstone of the Greenville-based law firm’s year-long centennial celebration. The Leadership Challenge is calling on the business community to help South Carolina develop the next generation of leaders by investing in scholarship, rigorous leadership programs.
Wyche will contribute $55,000 to the program over the next three years and has challenged other regional and statewide businesses to meet or exceed the company’s commitment.
For Wyche, the commitment is part of the company’s celebration of 100 years of legal practice in South Carolina, according to the release. This and other contributions from Wyche over the past year are part of the company’s Centennial Legacy Project, which seeks to reflect and reaffirm Wyche’s commitment to its core principles of community service: advancing business communities, social impact, community transformation and environmental stewardship.
Liberty Fellowship is the only state-based scholarship program in the United States, with more than 300 Liberty Fellowships working together in South Carolina. The fellowship works to activate individual leaders through greater understanding of a just, free, and equitable society; serve as a convener, bringing together diverse perspectives to advance civic discourse; and, according to a press release, provide the infrastructure for action. Liberty Fellowship is a nonpartisan, nonsectarian, and nondogmatic organization that operates independently of the positions and views of its funders.
Tally Parham Casey, CEO and Chairman of Wyche. “Wyche is honored to have the opportunity to partner with the scholarship to support our state’s future leaders.”
Liberty Fellows are selected based on an extensive nomination and interview process designed to evaluate candidates who offer unique and diverse perspectives to address the most critical issues facing South Carolinians. Participants are selected based on merit and commitment to the community.
With offices in Greenville, Spartanburg and Columbia, Wyche is a South Carolina member of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading association of independent law firms.
