Rupert Murdoch will be married for the fifth time after becoming engaged to girlfriend Ann Leslie Smith.
The 92-year-old joked it would be “preferably” his last engagement after six years with his fourth wife Jerry Hall ended in divorce last august
Mr Murdoch said he met his 66-year-old girlfriend in September at his Moraga Vineyard in Bel Air, California.

Announcing his engagement to Murdoch’s News Corp-owned New York Post, he said: “I was very nervous. I was terrified of falling in love – but I knew it would be my last. Best of all. I’m very happy.
“She and her husband also own a vineyard and have been in the wine business.
“I met her last year when there were 200 people in my vineyard and we had a chat. I called her two weeks later.”
Ms. Smith, a former San Francisco police chaplain whose late husband was country musician Chester Smith, said: “It was a gift from God for both of us. We met last September. I’ve been a widow for 14 years.
“Like Rupert, my husband is also a businessman. He worked for the local paper, developed radio and TV stations, and helped promote Univision. So I speak Rupert’s language. We share the same beliefs.
“For perspective, it wasn’t my first rodeo. Being close to 70 meant it was the second half. I waited for the right time. Friends were happy for me.
“We’re both looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.”

It was announced that the wedding is set for late summer and that the couple will split in California, England, Montana and New York.
Mr Murdoch’s The third wife is entrepreneur Deng Wendiis the mother of his two children, but they split in 2013.
From 1967 to 1999, he was married to his second wife, Anna Murdoch Mann, a Scottish journalist, with whom he had three children.
Mr Murdoch divorced his first wife, Patricia Booker, a former flight attendant, in 1966 and they have a daughter.
