Regional Better Business Bureaus Announce 2,023 Board Members

The Better Business Bureau Southeast Texas announced its new and returning board members and executive committee for 2023, marking its 60th year of serving the region’s business community.

According to Wednesday’s press release, the board will include the following individuals:

The Chair of the Board for 2023 is Leslie Harrison, Executive Vice President, Employee Benefits, Higginbotham. The elected Chairman is Robert Bertrand, owner of Cotton Cargo, and the Vice-President is Michele Cobb, owner of Cobb Family Chiropractic. The secretary is Ann Scoggin, owner of Coldwell Banker Southern Homes, and the treasurer is Anthony Toups, general manager of Classic Acura. The previous chairman was Tim Baker, president of Baker Auto Repair.

The 2023 Executive Committee will consist of the following directors:

Jennifer Burch, CEO, Best Hospice in Texas; Kathryn James, Senior Manager, Customer Relations, Conn’s HomePlus; LaDedra Jones, CTO, Mobiloil Credit Union; Lee Potter, Owner, American Air Systems; Function4 Paul Skinner, owner of , and Belinda Trest, director of community relations for KAT Excavation & Construction.

The following directors are elected to the Board of Directors for three-year terms:

Shawn Atkins, co-owner, Howell Furniture; Natasha Garrett, CEO, G&G Enterprises Construction Corps; Leslie Harrison; Katherine James; Kim Moncla, executive director, Baptist Hospital Foundation; Dave Stephens, Director of Manufacturing at Hydrant.

Three new board members were also elected, according to the press release. they are:

Amanda Ellis, Beaumont Commercial Banker, Hancock Whitney; Cindy Perez, CEO, Cat5 Resources; and Pamela Sieben, President, Sieben Equipment.

Ellis, who moved to Southeast Texas three years ago, is currently president of the Rotary Club of the Beaumont After Hours Council and is the facilitator of the Beaumont Leadership Class of 2023.

Ellis, a Beaumont Leadership Class of 2021 graduate, also serves on the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce’s Alumni Council. She is also Treasurer for Southeast Texas Artists and a member of the BNI “All Star” chapter.

Perez founded Cat5 Resources in 2013 and previously worked at A-1 Freeman. She and her team at Cat5 Resources oversee the development and execution of unique business solutions.

Perez was awarded the 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Southeast Texas Economic Development Foundation, an affiliate of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. She is the president and founder of the nonprofit Loula Foundation, which provides resources and support to struggling families. Perez will join Wialan Technologies’ Board of Directors in 2022.

In 1990, Sieben worked for Herzog Railroad Service, Inc. with her late husband, Bryan Sieben, while raising their two sons. She later joined the staff of Sutherland Lumber Company while also providing bookkeeping services at Sieben Equipment. In 2005, she joined Sieben Equipment full-time.

Founded in 1995, Sieben Equipment has more than tripled its growth while expanding its specialized capabilities. Sieben works with her two sons, Keith and Daren Sieben, and their partner, Jonathan Erickson.

Sieben Equipment has been a member of the Better Business Bureau since 2009.

BBB Southeast Texas, a service founded in 1663 by the Beaumont Rotary Club, looks forward to continuing its growth in the business world with new additions.

“We would like to extend a warm welcome to our 2023 officers and board members,” BBB President/CEO Darren Erwin said in the release. “Each of these individuals is committed to supporting the BBB’s mission by helping to foster trust in the marketplace. Their oversight and guidance will certainly help the BBB achieve significant growth in 2023.”
