The Premier League is close to agreeing a commercial deal worth almost £500m with video game maker Electronic Arts (EA) – one of the biggest such deals ever struck in English football’s top flight.
Sky News has learned that the 20 Super League The club were informed at a meeting on Friday that a new six-year partnership with EA Sports worth around £488m was close to being finalised.
A club executive said it would deliver more than £80m a year, which would include EA continuing as the league’s main partner and retaining its exclusive video game licence.
The lucrative extension deal is said to be worth more than double the existing deal between the two parties.
