New Year, New Mission – Audi Cornwall Mission

Hey guys. It’s a brand new year. Often this means it’s time to reflect and set goals. I want to do that, I want to do it with you. I mean, 2022 isn’t going the way I thought it would, RIP CNN+. But at the end of the day, I’m going to start building a community of interesting people and ideas. That’s what the assignment is all about. I really appreciate your participation.

So today I’m going to go through our mailbox and get your opinion.

My name is Brooke Townsley.

My name is Anne John and I just wanted to tell you…

Hi, my name is Sean McNamara. Something is going on here in Arizona that could affect the larger…

I’m Audie Cornish and this is homework. In our first six episodes, we covered everything from the OnlyFans economy to the hardships of progressive district attorneys. It’s not always easy to get people to talk to you about a brand new show. But so far, our guests have been generous with their time, willing to tell their personal stories, and patient with me and my team.

Sorry, I can’t hear you.I’m very sorry

Sorry. Well, get out your pen and paper.

The only weird thing I’m going to ask is, during the conversation, please go ahead and say this is Amy or this is April, and I want to add X, Y, and Z. It’s just an audio problem because people can’t see you.

OK So, are you ready to go? then i just-

I want to make sure the team is ready to record. I shouldn’t be pressing any fancy buttons, should I? OK Lord, here we go.

The response to these stories has been overwhelming. For example, some of you very much agree with our newly elected school board moms that sex and gender identity are not topics in the classroom. A caller wondered why in our episodes about intergenerational trauma, we didn’t discuss racism as a mental illness and not just something that affects mental health. But for the most part, you are all very inspiring.

I was moved by this mission. Everything covered had a very profound impact on me personally.

I just want to tell you that I absolutely love this assignment. I’ve been listening to every episode of it.

I really like your new podcast.

As for what happens next, well, we have some ideas. But you, our listeners, have also sent us some really great songs. From the healthcare industry…

I hope you understand the growing role of private equity in healthcare.

The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Labor…

It’s really hard for these bots to find a person, and in some cases, I don’t think they can necessarily find the right talent.

We are an R-rated puppet troupe. We do shows like 50 Shades of Felt, Die Hard: A Christmas Story, Jurassic Puppets…

Not to mention incurable insomnia, the decline of civil discourse and the relationship between gun control and suicide. Listen, we’re reading all your assignments, so please go ahead. If you don’t know yet, you can call us at 2028548802 to leave us a message and voicemail, or record a voice memo on your phone and email it to us at theassignmentcnn, all lowercase, at gmail.com. Before we go, let’s take a sneak peek at next week’s episodes.

Everyone wants to put COVID behind them and say it’s over. But right now we may have more than 10 million people dealing with prolonged COVID. This is not something we can forget.

That’s all for this week. A full episode of The Job returns next week and our decision to return in 2023? Have more great conversations and have your say. Thank you so much for listening. Happy New Year.
