LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A Louisville man has been indicted after he was accused of placing a cell phone camera in an employee bathroom and taking pictures and videos of the victim.
Christian Andrew Phillips, 53, was charged with four counts of voyeurism and two counts of promoting sexual activity by a minor, according to an arrest report.
Police said the incident happened on November 8. 12 at an unnamed business in Jefferson County.
Phillips, then a company manager, is accused of placing a cellphone camera on the ceiling of an employee’s bathroom without the victim’s consent for the purpose of capturing images and video.
Phillips kept pictures of four victims, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, on his phone, officials said.
While the two minors had been using the restroom, the arrest report said photos and videos were taken in various states of undress.
One of the victims found the camera inside the ceiling tiles and brought it to Phillips’ attention, the report said. He then threw the phone into a trash can, took it out of the trash can and handed it to the police.
According to a search warrant for the phone, a video was found of Phillips placing the phone on the ceiling of the bathroom.
In court on Wednesday, Phillips entered a not guilty plea. A judge set his bail at $50,000 and, if released, he would be confined to his home.
He will return to court in January. 5th of 2023.
