Man charged with hacking Lackawanna County business computer

Scranton, Lackawana County (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials have charged a man with deliberately damaging a business’s private computer system.

John Molinaro, 28, of Plains Township, allegedly intentionally disrupted the network operations of a Lackawanna County business by transmitting information over the Internet, causing more than $5,000 in damages, according to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam.

The maximum penalty for this offence is 10 years in prison, supervised release after imprisonment and a fine.
