IT On The Go technical service for telephone, business calls

Erie's Joshua Higdon owns and operates IT On The Go, a mobility company that provides a variety of on-site technical services, including computer and telephone maintenance, breakdown and repair solutions, and video surveillance installations.

ERIE – “Technical support for you” is Joshua Higdon’s business slogan.

The 25-year-old owns and operates IT On The Go, a mobility company that provides a variety of on-site services, including maintenance, hardware/software installation, computer and phone breakdown and repair solutions, and video surveillance installation.

Using information technology began as a hobby for Erie residents. His passion for repairing damaged technology led him to start a business in March 2021.

“I’ve been doing this for years. I used to work in IT at a credit union in Texas,” Higdon said. “I’ve been working in electronics since I came here, and I started helping people in Monroe set up computers, and my fiancé suggested I make it a business.”

Available from 8am to 8pm every day except Saturday, Higdon’s services include virus removal, data transfer, system backup and recovery, and computer optimization.

IT On The Go owner Joshua Higdon's passion for repairing broken technology led him to launch his mobile business in March 2021.

“When your computer starts to run slowly and you can’t replace it, computer optimization may be needed to prevent it from running slowly and improve reliability,” he said.

By adding an SSD, a type of storage device used in computers, Higdon can often upgrade and improve the performance of existing computers without having to replace the system.

Mobile Commerce serves the Monroe and Toledo areas and provides remote technical support. With customer permission, Higdon can remotely access devices and troubleshoot technical issues such as printer setup or running software.

Since launching his mobile company, Higdon has provided technical and security support to several businesses, including Brost Farms, Exeter Fire Department and Tiffany’s Pizza in Brownstown Township.

A list of services is posted on his website. However, mobile phone repairs, such as screen replacements, have been the most sought-after repair services for customers lately, as well as security system installations.

“Clients are installing doorbell cameras and cameras around the house. I’m a certified Nest Professional Installer,” he said.

For IT On The Go owner Joshua Higdon, phone repairs, like screen replacements, have been the most recent service customers have been looking for.

When it comes to protecting your computer system, computer experts recommend against opening pop-up windows that appear on your screen containing advertisements or messages that indicate that your computer is infected with a virus. Computer pop-ups often appear while browsing the Internet and may contain malware that has been developed to steal data and intentionally harm computers, networks, or servers.

Higdon recommends installing a security software program for protection.
