The Madison Central Boys Cross Country team took first place at the Bluegrass Invitational Saturday at Masterson Station Park in Lexington.
The Indians finished with a total of 142 points and narrowly beat Campbell County by 143 for the championship.
Central’s Carter Lamb was 14th in a time of 17:13.10, while Chase Lochmueller (17:20.90) was 19th.
Brody Coleman was 25th. Elijah Carrico was 42nd. Caden Coleman was 44th. Braden Bentley was 70th. Triston Carter-Sizemore was No. 71 and Mark Kipelio was No. 98.
In the women’s race, Madison Central was third (106).
Lexington Catholic (90) won the team championship, while Campbell County (103) finished third.
Shelby Lamb finished fifth with a time of 19:07.10.
Abigail Beard (20:49.50) was 16th. Alexis Ngetich was 24th. Emily Reynolds was No. 29. Makayla Bickett was 39th. Rowan Ratliff was 89th and Kymarra Mutuse was 109th.
Berea Community Invitational
The Demonstration Lab Boys Cross Country Team finished 14th at the Berea Community Invitational at Berea College on Saturday.
Ty Balser finished 21st with a time of 18:34.34.
Sahil Kutty-Poffenberger was No. 36. Theodore Mott ranked 73rd. Kevin Newhart was 122nd. Owen Foster was 143rd and Hunter Searle was 147th.
Brayden Thacker (19:41.22) of Berea Community was 48th. Colin Derringer was 145th and Landon Justice was 146th.
Madison Southern is led by Noah Thompson, who posted at 22:05.18.
Isaac Bruce was ranked 104th. Luke Gladwell ranked 105th. Ryan Short was ranked 117th. Jonah Brown was 120th. Noah Parman was 136th and Noah Howard was 138th.
The South is 17th in the team standings.
In the women’s race, Model Laboratory’s Jadie Balser finished 34th with a time of 22:56.09.
Model’s Darby Nelson was No. 100 and Hannah Kim was No. 132.
South’s Kinzley Barrett finished 55th after posting a time of 24:17.41.
China Southern’s Katie Burns was No. 105. Mary Kate Young ranked 112th. Ellie Kohlman was 115th and Marissa Richmond was 138th.
Berea Community Senior Riley Gullett placed 76th in a time of 25:30.09. Lily Lewis came in at No. 79 and Sydney Moore at No. 110.
