Great Britain beats Northern Illinois in Lexington

Kentucky football started 3-0 (1-0 SEC). No. 8 In the latest AP poll, Great Britain is looking to keep the momentum going with a home game against the Northern Illinois Huskies (1-2) on ESPN2 at 7 p.m.

The battered Wildcats defeated Youngstown State 31-0. Kentucky struggled on the offensive line with three sacks in the first half. But the English defence saved the team from any major losses.

However, there were no difficult moments in this game. Linebacker JJ Weaver is out of the game against Youngstown State and has been sidelined with injury every week, England coach Mark Stopps said at his weekly news conference on Monday. Stopps said Weaver is unlikely to play Northern Illinois.

According to VegasInsider’s consensus line, Kentucky is the favorite against the Huskies (24.5 points). Northern Illinois may not have Michigan transfer quarterback Rocky Lombardi. Lombardi left an undisclosed injury in the second quarter of the Huskies’ loss to Vanderbilt last Saturday. He completed all seven passes for 79 yards and one touchdown.

The Huskies hope he will be back in time for Saturday’s game at Kroger Field.
