LEXINGTON — Falkville trailed 34-20 entering the fourth quarter, but trailed Lexington 34-33 and then 40-33 in the Division 8 Class 2A fight.
The Blue Devils’ Caden Burnett scored on a 3-yard run and had a 31-yard pass to Isaiah Wernick to cut Lexington’s lead to 34-33. However, the Golden Bears responded with a touchdown for a seven-point victory.
Burnett and Wernick teamed up for another three touchdown passes for 45, 75 and 58 yards.
Burnett shot 16 of 26 for a career-high 374 yards and four touchdowns.
Warwick completed eight catches for a school-record 303 yards and four touchdowns.
Levi Lynn led Falkville’s defense with 9 steals, while Dave Lockhart had 8 steals and 2 failed steals.
Falkville (3-3, 2-2) hosts Red Bay (5-1, 3-1) on Friday.
