Everything is clear at Princeton High, reports of active shooters are fake

Who are you? I now have an officer, a lieutenant with the Sharonville Police Department. Sorry for changing a little. Are you OK? What can you tell us? what is the problem? Calls about shootings and injuries in the school were quickly answered here at about 10:15. We were able to quickly determine that this was a scam. Because making sure everyone out there knows that all students are safe. No one was injured during this event. All students are responsible and everyone is well. High schools are opening due to disruption. Hopefully that provides information on where people should go. If they were students writing buses, they would go home from school and I think they were loading the bus right now. It will be dropped in their normal position. If the student is the driver, they get in the car and can go home. Students are walking to Vineyard Church on Century Circle Avenue in SPRINGDALE if they need to be picked up. That’s the unifying point. We ask that parents not come to high school even though everyone is safe. We have a large police presence and we are dealing with crowds that are causing a lot of confusion. Central Ring Road, Vineyard Church. We have officials there and we also have some school representatives. Everyone is safe. all is well. This is not a good idea. Right now, we’re in crowd management mode. Karin: Middle schools are not affected when it comes to early release, right? >> Middle School will maintain a normal day. They did get into a little bit of a lock down. The call was about the high school and the school had been cleared. This is one of the reasons it took us so long to give official information. We checked room by room to make sure there was nothing. Karin: Talk about this. There is a threat. Didn’t get a call? Is it through social media? >> This was a direct 911 call from a person claiming to be a student at the school and described a gunman and multiple injuries. I think the 911 call was diverted from Cincinnati. One of them — when dispatchers get calls like this, they don’t waste time, so that’s where we get a lot of responses from all these agencies. Karin: You just learned about every institution in Greater Cincinnati. You are so fast. I’m miles away and you’ve surrounded this place. Talk about when it’s a threat and you don’t know what’s going on. Did you just call everyone in? >> Stuff of this order of magnitude, it absolutely — it applies to all counties. We have Westchester, Cincinnati Police, Sheriff’s Helicopter, County SWAT. All of our schools in Princeton have full-time school resource officers who are already inspecting rooms trying to prove the credibility of the threat. We are pleased with our response and how supported we feel. There may be hundreds of police. Karin: There’s been some threats to schools across the state of Ohio. Do you know if this has anything to do with this? >> I can’t say that. Obviously, they are similar calls. One, the county, Stark County, has a similar call. We can put two and two together. We are still in crowd management mode to ensure student reunion and reduce chaos in schools. After that, it turned into a criminal investigation of everything else. Karin: Who will handle it? He said the call originated in Cincinnati. Who do you think made the call in Cincinnati? >> We’ve had people investigate where it came from. We want to start it. If there are multiple jurisdictions, it may be multiple agencies or federal agencies. Karin: Did you get a chance to talk to the student who was just released? If so, how are they doing? Although it was a scam, during that time I was with parents who were on the phone with their loved ones. They panicked and tried to keep quiet, saying “Mom, please come and pick me up”. How are they doing now? >> The students I said were leaving were in high spirits. But the moment we were there, room to room, it caused a huge panic, which is why we, who were so frustrated and so angry, felt that it was some sort of entertainment. We’re going to do everything we can to hold someone accountable because it really freaks out a lot of kids. Karin: I know the Sharonville Police Department works very closely with the school district. Is this your training at the Princeton City School? >> We have. This is a newer building. We do a lot of travel and other things in the building. All our officers have keys so they can swipe through the door and do what they need to do. Oddly enough, we have active shooter training next week. A lot of this will be applicable. Maybe we can take some lessons from today and apply them to our training next week. Karin: Lieutenant, thank you for your empty words and records. Parents have a lot of confusion. >> My job is to promote where to pick up your kids. Vineyard Church. If your students are drivers, they will drive. If they were bus riders, they would go home. Junior high school students will not be affected like high school students, so they will remain in school for the day. Karin: Thank you, Lieutenant. Stay safe outside. Police have cleared everything up at Princeton High School after it was put under lockdown after an active gunman was found to be a prank, according to Sharonville police. The call came about 10 a.m., and Sharonville police said they were dispatched to report an active shooter, who said it appeared to be a prank at this time. Students on the school bus will be taken from the school to their normal drop off location. Students picked up by parents will be taken to Vineyard Chapel. Students who drive to school will be fired into their cars. Princeton Community High School follows the same process after expulsion of high school students. Police are asking people to continue to avoid the area as there is still a large police presence. The surrounding schools were also blocked as police investigated. These blockades have been lifted. Inaccurate information, hoaxes and a flurry of threats are taking place across the country, Princeton High School said in a release. The school said it is cooperating with local law enforcement and appreciates the rapid response from law enforcement in the area.
