Adidas terminated its partnership with Kanye West after the rapper made “unacceptable, hateful and dangerous” anti-Semitic posts on social media.
In a statement, the German sportswear company said it had decided to “immediately terminate its cooperation with Ye.”
“Adidas does not tolerate anti-Semitism or any other form of hate speech,” the company said. “Ye’s recent words and actions are unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate corporate diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness. values.”
Adidas is the latest in a long line of companies have severed ties The rapper made offensive posts on social media.
The 45-year-old, who legally changed his name to Ye last year, said he would take part in “Death Hoax 3” targeting Jews and recently suggested slavery was an option.
Adidas said it will also stop production of Yeezy-branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his company.
In light of West’s remarks, the company has come under increasing pressure to cut ties with West, with celebrities and others on social media urging Adidas to take action.

Adidas added that ending its partnership would have an expected “short-term negative impact” on the company’s net income in 2022 of up to 250 million euros.
West was also criticized for wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt at the Yeezy fashion show in Paris.

The rapper has been suspended from Twitter and Instagram for posts the social network said violated its policies.
